Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie

We start many of our mornings with Smoothies.  They are easy to make, we all like them, and we can take them on the go.  My favorite (and the family's favorite, too), are strawberry pineapple smoothies.  We'd likely go for banana, but I'm allergic--so, no banana in the smoothies for the group.  (Full disclosure, I am not a doctor, and I am not a nutritionist, so this is definitely not medical advice.)
  So, here's what you need:

2 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt
1 cup pineapple orange juice
2 cups ice (I use crushed)

I also add a few extras to ours:

1 scoop of Vanilla flavored whey, for protein
1 packet emergen-C, for extra for a vitamin C boost
1 scoop Metamucil-orange flavored for a little extra fiber. (yes, I just went there)

I throw all of these into our blender and blitz until it is well blended.  Then, voila! Smoothies for everyone.

A couple of notes.
1) no need to follow the recipe exactly.  Add what you or your family want.
2)  Adjust the amounts as needed.  This is what works for us.
3) I used to make this with my old blender which I loved, but I ending up burning out the motor.  I've upgraded to a Vitamix since, and no problems.  I probably should have added more liquid, or added ingredients a little at a time and blended until smooth.
